SCS Corporate Partners Program

SCS Corporate Partners logoThe School of Chemical Sciences (SCS) at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, recognizes the importance of cooperation between local industry and academia in maintaining the vitality of both. In turn, many local chemical science-related firms recognize the value of cutting edge research that first-class faculty and students perform and the valuable resources housed within the School. SCS created the Corporate Partners Program to establish a local network for leaders of chemical companies of all sizes and SCS.

Smart, innovative, globally connected, and culturally rich, Champaign-Urbana is a micro-urban center on the rise. Over 100 high-tech firms have emerged within the community, many from the University’s supercomputing, microelectronics, biotechnology and artificial intelligence explorations. Over a dozen of these companies were started by faculty in the Chemical Sciences. Other companies are attracted to the community because of the wealth of talent already here.

The Corporate Partners Program is here to assist local companies in building strategic partnerships with the School of Chemical Sciences, the Department of Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering, and the Department of Chemistry in areas such as:
  • Facilities and equipment
  • Faculty Expertise
  • Recruitment
  • Research
  • Innovation
Faculty and local business leaders currently meet at least three times per year to hear both corporate and academic presenters talk about current topics, suggest deeper collaboration opportunities and to engage in networking.
