Information for Prospective Graduate Students
I generally accept 1-2 graduate students per year into my laboratory and welcome your interest in my lab. I am usually available to discuss possible projects with prospective students during the spring, summer and fall after they are admitted to a graduate program at the University of Illinois. If you are applying to the Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering Department you can meet with me during the visit weekend in the spring. If you are admitted to other departments at the University of Illinois and want to discuss my lab before making your decision, please send me a note and we can set up a time to talk. It is not necessary to contact me before or during the admissions process, as I do not have influence over admissions decisions for any graduate programs at the University of Illinois and cannot give you feedback on your probability of being admitted. Admissions decisions are made by departmental admissions committees based on the entire pool of applicants.
