2013 Regional Career Development Conference at the Chemistry-Biology Interface

The CBI Career Development Conference is new initiative to better prepare graduate students at the chemistry-biology interface for various career paths, including those in the corporate world. Our goal is to stimulate, educate, and inspire young researchers in a changing world, with changing employer expectations, and shifting U.S. and global demographics, about interesting and challenging career paths and opportunities at the chemistry and biology interface. The second annual CBI Career Development Conference will be held June 3-5, 2014 at the University of Wisconsin, Madison.

The inaugural conference took place at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign June 2013 and included 90 top-ranking graduate students from 10 institutions throughout the Midwest (Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, Vanderbilt, Kansas, Northwestern, Chicago, Ohio State, Notre Dame, and Minnesota) and over 30 expert mentors from academia, industry, government, and non-traditional fields. Over this 2.5-day innovative, highly interactive, and invitation-only event, students gained a better knowledge of the various career paths available to them.
