B.S. and M.S., Chemistry and Biology, Indian Institute of Science, Education and Research
I was born and raised in Pune, India. In 2013, I completed my BS-MS in Chemistry and Biology at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Pune. My undergraduate research involved design and evaluation of novel indole fluorophores and later, my Master’s thesis with Dr. Sanjeev Galande focused on protein engineering with Zinc-Fingers and TAL’s. After exploring various aspects of molecular biology, I decided to return to my original love for organic chemistry and joined Scott Denmark’s group in Fall 2014.
In my spare time, I am a student of Indian Classical Music and play the Sitar. Coming from India, I am a big fan of cricket and spicy, ‘masaledar’ food!
