B.S., Chemical Engineering, Cairo University, Egypt
M.S., Chemical Engineering, University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign
I was born and raised in Cairo, Egypt where I did my undergraduate in Chemical Engineering. After graduation, I joined the R&D division in a catalyst manufacture company in Chicago where I worked on propane dehydrogenation catalyst development. I then moved to the oil & gas field operations side where I was doing refineries commissioning and troubleshooting around the globe for two years. In 2013, I came back to Illinois to work on supported nanoparticles catalyst design for bioethanol upgrading and get my MS degree in Chemical Engineering from the UIUC. Now I’m part of the Denmark Group as a PhD student working on supported nanoparticles-catalyzed C-C bond formation reactions. When I’m not busy with work, I’m either reading, watching horror movies, or 3D printing random stuff.
