DPhil, University of Oxford
I was born in Bradford in West Yorkshire (UK) and I received my masters degree in chemistry (MChem) from the University of Oxford (UK) in 2008. I stayed on at Oxford to conduct my graduate research (DPhil) in the laboratories of Professor Steve Davies, developing new methods for stereoselective fluorination based on boron fluorides and fluoroborates as nucleophilic fluorine sources. In January 2012, I moved to the University of Illinois: Urbana-Champaign to undertake a postdoctoral research appointment within the Denmark group. When not in the lab I enjoy spending time with my wife Michelle and sampling the many delights of Champaign and the surrounding area.
