Biography
I graduated in 2000 with a Diploma in Chemistry from the University of Fribourg in Switzerland where I had the opportunity to carry out undergraduate research upon synthesis and ab initio computation of the vibrational optical activity of sulfoxydes.
After graduation I decided to continue my formation in Fribourg joining the research group of Professor Titus A. Jenny. I completed my Ph.D thesis in 2004 having investigated the synthetic potential of new iron tricarbonyl complexes in an organometallic approach to the taxane skeleton synthesis. Moreover, during these four years, I was in charge of the formation of an apprentice laboratory assistant and I have been involved in the organization and the supervision of different training courses.
After completion of my Ph.D., I stayed six months as a scientific collaborator at the University of Fribourg working on the development and the study of nitrogen-containing polycondensed aromatic compounds before crossing the Atlantic to join the Denmark group in July 2005 as a postdoctoral research associate. I am currently exploring the interactions between late transition metals and silanols in cross-coupling reactions.
