B.S., Chemistry, Peking University
Ph.D., Organic Chemistry, University of Illinois
I was born in Renqiu, China. I studied in Peking University as an undergrad for four years, working with Prof. Zhangjie Shi on the transition metal catalyzed C-H activation. Then I moved to UIUC to pursue my PhD study. I joined Prof. Hartwig group in 2009 and switched to Prof. Oldfield group in 2011. My study was focused on the development of novel compounds as anti-bacterial and anti-protozoal agents. I got my PhD degree in April 2016, and after that, I joined Prof. Denmark’s lab as a postdoc. Outside the lab, I enjoy staying with my family, playing basketball and computer games.
