I am interested in E-Cadherin mechanotransduction. I mimic cell-cell, E-Cadherin mediated junctional interactions using specific tools (Magnetic Twisting Cytometry and Traction force microscopy) and ask what, when, and how the cell biochemically responds to the applied mechanical stimuli. The results of the study can help understand the role of cell junctional mechanics in cancer metastasis; cell sorting disorders; mechanotransduction related diseases and in the field of tissue engineering.

I have a Bachelors degree in Industrial Biotechnology (Anna University, Chennai India), and a Masters degree in Molecular Biochemistry and Biotechnology (Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago).

Apart from research, I am also interested in adventure activities. The recent being a group rafting experience at Minominee river, WI; and Pigeon Forge, TN.
