I am interested in studying the surface dynamics of metallic glasses and other amorphous systems by making atomic resolution movies using UHV scanning tunneling microscopy. For the first time in the field, we were directly able to image beta relaxations in host of atomic glasses and amorphous silicon made by variety of techniques. We showed that the relaxations happen almost exclusively by two-state dynamics and are cooperative in nature.
