research interests

Professor Rienstra's research interests are in solid-state nuclear magnetic resonance (SSNMR), including the development of new pulse sequence methodology and instrumentation, and application to studies of protein structure and dynamics. Disease-relevant systems under study include the synuclein family of proteins associated with Parkinson's disease, tissue factors involved in blood coagulation, and membrane localization domains of bacterial toxins.
