Brief Biography

John Aguilar was an undergraduate student at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, with a major in Molecular & and Cellular Biology and a minor in Chemistry. His undergraduate research was under the supervision of Prof. Scott K. Silverman on the development of deoxyribozymes. After graduation, he obtained his M.D. degree at University of Florida.

Research Interests

My research project sought to use DNA catalysts for hydrolytic cleavage (rather than cleavage by transesterification) of RNA.
