Brief Biography

John Aguilar was an undergraduate student at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, with a major in Molecular & and Cellular Biology and a minor in Chemistry. His undergraduate research was under the supervision of Prof. Scott K. Silverman on the development of deoxyribozymes. He obtained his certification as an EMT-B and attended medical school at University of Florida after graduation.

Research Interests

My research project sought to use DNA catalysts for hydrolytic cleavage (rather than cleavage by transesterification) of RNA.
