Brief Biography

Nora Ibrahim was an undergraduate student at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, pursuing a major in Biochemistry and a minor in Latin. Her undergraduate research was under the direction of Prof. Scott K. Silverman. Outside of lab, she was an assistant news editor and opinions editor ar at the university's student newspaper, The Daily Illini. After her undergraduate studies, she moved on to medical school at Saint Louis University.

Research Interests

In my research in the Silverman Lab, I sought deoxyribozymes that catalyze reactions at lysine side chains. I also identified DNA-hydrolyzing deoxyribozymes that use triplex binding to interact with double-stranded DNA.
