Brief Biography

Puzhou Wang received his B.S. degree in chemistry from Peking University, China in 2012. In Fall 2012 he joined the Department of Chemistry at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, working under the supervision of Prof. Scott K. Silverman on the in vitro selection of deoxyribozymes. He earned his Ph.D. degree in April 2018, and in July 2018 he moved to San Jose, California as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow with Complete Genomics. In March 2019, he began as Protocol Scientist, Chemistry at Synthego Corporation.

Research Interests

My research in the Silverman lab sought to identify deoxyribozymes that sequence-selectively attach poly(ethylene glycol), or PEG, chains to proteins. More broadly, I pursued deoxyribozymes for a variety of sequence-selective protein modification reactions.
