Brief Biography

Rebecca Wehrmann was an undergraduate student at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, double majoring in both Chemistry and in Molecular & Cellular Biology. Her undergraduate research was in the lab of Prof. Scott K. Silverman. After graduation, she joined Teach for America to teach high school science in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Research Interests

In my research project, I used in vitro selection to identify new deoxyribozymes for the site-specific hydrolysis of DNA, specifically considering the pH dependence of the catalytic activity.
