Brief Biography

Yun Xie received her B.S. degree in chemistry and biochemistry from the University of Michigan in 2005. She completed her Ph.D. degree at UCSD with Yitzhak Tor in 2010. From October 2010 through July 2011 she was a postdoc at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, working under the supervision of Prof. Scott K. Silverman. In August 2011 she began as an AAAS Science and Technology Policy Fellow in the Office of the Director (OD), Office of Science Policy Analysis of the National Institutes of Health (NIH). 

Research Interests

In my research in the Silverman lab, I investigated the potential contributions of modified DNA nucleotides to catalysis by deoxyribozymes.
