Brief Biography

Cong Zhou received his B.S. degree in chemistry from Peking University, China in 2012. In Fall 2012 he joined the Department of Chemistry at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, working under the supervision of Prof. Scott K. Silverman on the in vitro selection of deoxyribozymes. He earned his Ph.D. degree in May 2018, and in November 2018 he moved to Cambridge, Massachusetts with Wave Life Sciences. He is currently Senior Scientist at CRISPR Therapeutics.

Research Interests

My research in the Silverman lab investigated the contributions of modified nucleotides to DNA catalysis, especially for DNA-catalyzed peptide bond hydrolysis.
