Our research group is located on the 4th Floor of the A wing (i.e., south building) of the Chemical and Life Sciences Laboratory (CLSL), 601 S. Goodwin Ave.; Urbana, IL 61801. We're right across Goodwin Av. from the Krannert Center for Performing Arts.

DRIVING DIRECTIONS

From Chicago:

  1. Use I-57S (From O'Hare take I-294S Tri State Tollway, look for signs for I-57S)
  2. When you reach Urbana-Champaign, take I-74E to Lincoln Ave (about 2 miles)
  3. Take Lincoln Ave. South to Green St. Green St. is a light about 1.6 miles down Lincoln. It is the sixth light. The traffic lights go in this sequence: Killarney, Bradley, Fairview, University, Springfield, Green.
  4. Turn Right on Green St. Go to the next light, Goodwin Ave.. Turn Left on Goodwin.
  5. We are on the right about 1 block down, 601 S. Goodwin, Chemical and Life Sciences Building, across the street from the Performing Arts Center.
  6. There are two parts to the building. You want the south part (Building A) which runs parallel to Goodwin. My office is A420 CLSL

From St. Louis:

  1. You reach Urbana-Champaign on I-72 going East
  2. I-72 turns into University Ave.
  3. Continue on University Ave. for about 4 miles. As you near the University, you will see the numbered streets, First, Second, ... Sixth Street, then Wright St. (a light with a big gas station). A bit after Wright St. you will see a Hampton Inn and a Perkins Restaurant. That is the sign you have reached Goodwin Av. Turn right (south) on Goodwin. Continue past the stop sign, two lights (the 2nd light is Green St.) Then 1 block on your right is our building.
  4. There are two parts to the building. You want the south part (Building A) which runs parallel to Goodwin. My office is A420 CLSL

From Indianapolis (airport):

  1. The airport exits onto I-465.  Take I-465N about 5 miles to I-74W
  2. It is about 115 miles on I-74W to Champaign-Urbana
  3. The first Champaign-Urbana exit is University Ave.  Take the University Ave. exit going toward town (West)
  4. About 1 mile on University, you will come to a stoplight with diagonal RR tracks. That is Lincoln Av. Continue a bit past Lincoln (across the RR tracks) to Goodwin Av. and turn left. Goodwin is where the Perkins Restaurant and Hampton Inn is located. Continue past the stop sign and 2 stop lights and we are 1 more block on the right.
  5. There are two parts to the building. You want the south part (Building A) which runs parallel to Goodwin. My office is A420 CLSL

From CMI (Champaign-Urbana's Airport):

  1. The airport is south of the Campus. Turn left out of the Airport onto Route 45 (Dunbar/Neil).
  2. Go North 2.5 miles to Kirby St., turn right (East), continue on Kirby for 1 mile.
  3. Turn Left (North) on Lincoln Ave. Continue to Green St.
  4. Turn Left (West) on Green St. Go to the next light, Goodwin Ave. Turn Left on Goodwin.
  5. We are on the right about 1 block down, 601 S. Goodwin, Chemical and Life Sciences Building, across the street from the Performing Arts Center.

We have a modern airport, code letters CMI, named Willard Airport, with ~12 flights daily by American and United Airlines. Our connections are to Chicago O'Hare (ORD) and Dallas/Ft. Worth (DFW). Willard Airport is about 4 miles south of campus. Ground transportation is provided by our award winning MTD, taxis, uber, and the usual rental car agencies.
